III. scenario

01. investigation. so there's this name, and you've plugged it into google, and the only match you can find is some asshole's facebook account. he looks like a real jerk. or maybe you got nothing, and you hired a private investigation firm that specializes in this kind of thing. Now you have an email address, or phone number, or a home address, and what's next is to pick up the phone, write that letter, knock on that door. or any of the other ways to investigate for alternate soul mates...hot and cold or high-fiving everyone you meet?
02. reveal. you've just timed out, or you can see in color, etc. hope it didn't happen in a crowd if you can't match it. or hey, here's your soulmate revealed through x means what now.
03. getting together. you're in the early stages. dating, maybe. getting to know each other. moving in, under the watchful eyes of other friends, happy and soulmated and eager to have their view of the world confirmed in you. but do you even really know this person? What makes you so suited, anyway?
04. fuck your soulmate has someone else as a soulmate or has no soulmate at all, deal with that.

[ After the ever so romantic meeting in an abandoned warehouse where Naegi had to defuse a bomb while Kouichi was an immortal asshole, the two find themselves in a shared dreams. It's a land of flowing water and there's probably a unicorn prancing in the background.

And instead of the white-haired boy, Naegi will find a white owl perched in a tree. ]

[ This dream is better than that other dream, at least. So far. No bombs as of yet, although dream logic had never quite explained why there had been a bomb. Naegi couldn't quite remember the parts before it, or after it - only the parts where the frankly jerky white-haired boy had been offering non-advice and being unhelpful. This wasn't out of the ordinary. Dreams happened, odd and disjointed, and then sometimes they would solidify.

Whenever whomever-this-was would fall asleep as well, and dream. Wherever they were when they were dreaming, whatever they were doing, it would become something less full of dream-logic and more...real. Sometimes it was still frantic and hard to remember it wasn't a dream, but others it wasn't.

Today - tonight, rather - Naegi remembers he isn't dreaming. And he knows this isn't his dream. ]

You're an owl again. [ That happens, sometimes. Kouichi has never explained it, although Naegi's asked once or twice... ] Ah...you weren't having a nightmare, were you?

[ He seems calm, so they might have a quiet night of things, but Kouichi is a jackass who seems calm even when things are dire, so they might not. ]
